305 Brook Rd, Richmond, VA

This new establishment in Richmond's downtown describes itself as a "modern Chinese cocktail house," which I can attest is true. When one is craving dumplings, bao buns, or calamari, this stylish spot should absolutely be considered as a contender. You can wash it all down with a nice cocktail too.

The main dining area can be located upstairs, whereas the bar and additional and more casual seating can be found downstairs when you first walk in. There is ample space and the entirety of it is decorated with pops of pink and traditional Asian ornaments like the beckoning cat. The dumplings come out in a bamboo steamer and taste delicious maybe because of this. The bartender was cheerful and prompt with our drinks, which are nicely priced regardless but particularly during happy hour.

The location of And Dim Sum is great in that diners upstairs are offered a pretty city view and it is near a lot of action by being near the heart of the city. The name of the restaurant is cheeky and fun, which is also a good way to describe the overall branding and presentation. The lighting is quite moody, which lends a hand to illuminate the vibrant pink lamp in the front entryway. Overall, for a relaxed atmosphere with staple Chinese grub, And Dim Sum is a worthy new option for all of those who care to indulge.
